What’s better than amazing food? It’s eating that amazing food with some fabulous ladies for Galentine’s Day! When my friends Kachet of The Lipstick Giraffe and Ruthie of Ruthie Ridley Blog invited me to their little Galentine’s Day Extravaganza at Hock Farm Craft & Provisions, I couldn’t resist. A group of ten beautiful ladies, all local fashion bloggers, got together for a fabulous night of laughter and fun. We enjoyed a little preview of the cocktails and desserts that will be on the special Valentine’s Day menu. Let me tell you, it was delicious!
Hock Farm Craft & Provisions is located in the heart of the Farm to Fork Capital here in Midtown, Sacramento. It has become a new addition to my list of favorite spots to eat since Galentine’s Day. I’ve wanted to dine here for ages and was so excited to go for the first time on such a special occasion. When I walked through the door, I immediately fell in love with their urban vibe and open floor plan. I got a glimpse of this in the midst of squeals, hugs, and admiring the outfits that the other gals were wearing! I mean, what else would you expect from a group of women who love fashion?!
Hock Farm Valentine’s Day Menu
We started out with amazing cocktails that are exclusive to Hock Farms Valentine’s Day menu. The first drink was The Bird & The Bee, made of a griffo dry gin, creme de cacao, wildflower honey, and fresh lemon – served up with a spiced strawberry-sugar rim.
My favorite was the Old Fashioned Banana Cocktail. Something that you may or may not know about me is that I love whiskey, I’m pretty partial to a great old fashioned, so I became incredibly excited when I saw the signature square ice cube floating in the glass. This yummy drink had roasted banana-infused Sonoma Brothers bourbon, raw sugar, and chai-infused angostura bitters.
For dessert, we were served a yummy Sticky Toffee Pudding that had pear, bourbon caramel, and ginger ice cream which I devoured (I did it in a very ladylike way, of course).
We were also served The Dark Chocolate Cremeux which had a delicious combination of pistachio, blood orange, and oreo cookie crumb. Both desserts were incredibly tasty! I love everything chocolate, so this was a favorite for sure.
I wasn’t planning on having dinner, but I couldn’t resist. I’m sure that you’re all aware of my great love for food by now! I ordered the fish of the day which was a delicious dish of bacon wrapped scallops. I think that my mouth started watering as our waiter described it to me. Are there any other seafood lovers out there? I had a moment where I thought, “I should really get a salad!”, but it seems that I have no willpower when it comes to good food.
If you’re looking for a great place to dine, this is a wonderful option! The meal is a fixed price of $75 per person and requires a reservation. You can view the entire Valentines Day menu here.
I had such an incredible evening spending time with old and new friends for our Galentine’s Day! I will be giving these beautiful ladies a proper introduction in a second post, but if you would like to do a bit of stalking in the meantime, you won’t regret it.
