Organic Juice & Food Cleanse with Liquidology

Ever since returning from my travels, I’ve felt incredibly heavy in my body and I lacked the energy I needed to survive in life. Not to mention, my skin was breaking out like crazy! I blame gelato. Even though it was so delicious to indulge on my trip and was 100% worth it, I needed to start making some healthy choices again. I find that the easiest and most efficient way for me to do that is by starting a juice cleanse!

I was so excited to connect with Liquidology to try one of the new and exciting juice and food cleanses they’ve added to the menu. It was time to give my body some much needed R & R.

As someone who likes to stay active, I was looking to do something a bit different from the juice cleanses I’d done before. I wanted to try an organic juice cleanse that also included clean, organic eats to give me energy during my workouts. This is also the perfect intro to cleansing if you’re a bit nervous about going with just juice right away. I used to feel like eating during a cleanse was somehow cheating, but I had to remind myself that it’s not about how little I can eat and more about giving my body the things it needs to heal and repair itself.

There are three new juice and food cleanses that Liquidology is adding to their menu– Evolve, Energy, and Elite. All the delicious organic eats are provided by Vibe Health Bar in Oak Park. Each cleanse comes in a 1, 3 and 5 day option and was created according to calorie count which makes it easy to choose the cleanse that would be best for you.

I went with the One Day Evolve Cleanse! Here’s what I got:

  • Lemon Water- no matter the cleanse, each day starts out with a probiotic lemon water to get the body ready to consume all the nutrients you’ll be eating that day.
  • Superfood Protein Bite

  • Glow

  • Over the Rainbow
  • Root Awakening Wrap

  • We Got The Beet
  • Superfoods Protein Bite

  • Chlorophyll H2O
  • River City Salad

Late Night Snack

  • Cinnamon Coconut H2O
  • Chocolate Treat

I couldn’t wait to try out the Evolve cleanse for a day and begin my journey back to healthy eating. To prep for the cleanse, I cut out sugar and coffee (two things I love dearly) a couple days beforehand and made sure to drink lots of water leading up to and during my cleanse to keep me hydrated.

Everyone’s body responds differently to a cleanse, I had a headache come on late in the morning this time, and there are times I’ve also felt really tired and fatigued during a cleanse. It’s important to just pay attention to what your body is saying and take it easy if needed.

Having food during the day was a very different and wonderful kind of cleanse experience. I’m used to having that hungry feeling all day when I’ve done strictly juice, but during my Evolve Cleanse, every time I began to get hungry, it would be time for my next something.

I was pretty partial to the protein bites that came with my cleanse and could’ve eaten so many of them! They were an amazing little snack and I felt totally satisfied with a juice and protein bite combined.

The wrap for lunch was massive and I wasn’t sure if I would even finish it all, but I did (obviously). I wish I would’ve known how pretty the wrap was inside when I was doing photos so I could show you, it was this beautiful pink color. There are no frills to this wrap and I honestly wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it because it looked really “healthy”, but it turned out to be incredibly fresh and delicious tasting. I loved the Over The Rainbow (seasonal) juice it was paired with.

The spinach salad with nuts, feta, and apple along with my chlorophyll water was a big and delicious dinner. They definitely don’t let you go hungry!

After a full day of detoxing, I couldn’t wait to use my dry body brush and hop in the shower. For those who aren’t familiar, a dry brush is a tool you use before showering that helps get rid of dead skin cells, cellulite, and assists your lymphatic system in ridding the body of toxins. All of these things make it a great tool to use during a cleanse as well as on a regular basis. I felt so light and energized afterward! It was wonderful to settle in for the night and indulge in my piece of dark chocolate and cinnamon coconut water. I’m a HUGE dark chocolate fan and I’d been waiting to eat it all day!! It was definitely the perfect ending to my Evolve Cleanse.

I LOVED reading this post. I have done a liquid only cleanse a couple of times in the past and was fairly happy with the results but didn’t like the “hungry” feeling and not eating any solids. This cleanse sounds like the perfect one. And I love that it ends with that body brush!!!

I agree, people do them all kinds of ways, so it’s always interesting! If you’ve never done a cleanse, a juice and food one would be a great option. It’s incredibly easy! You’ll have to tell me how you get on after you do one! Xx

  19. Jenna Howe on November 12, 2016 at 12:49 am

I love that this one has food included. I’ve always struggled with juice diets because I need to feel like I’m eating something. This food sounds really great, thanks for sharing.

    Cheers, J

I know what you mean! That’s the one struggle of juice cleanses for me because I hate that feeling, especially when the weather turns colder. Hopefully this helps give you an idea of what food to add in the next time! Xx
