Can I just repeat what everyone else is saying?– I can’t believe it’s November already!! Every year really does go by faster and faster and I feel like I should just starting saying “Happy New Year!” since it’ll be here in no time. I have to let you know that November is the month of my favorite holiday, so I’m always excited when it comes around.
I started November off in the best way possible by making a trip up to a place called Apple Hill last weekend! It’s made up of lots of different family farms and orchards in Placerville, California. I go up there every October with my family, but this time our trip kept getting postponed because of the rain. Let’s just say I was pretty happy when a rain free Sunday arrived! I drove up there with my family and spent the day eating warm apple donuts and hot cider at one farm, followed by lunch and apple pie at another farm. You can spend the whole day eating apples made into all kinds of delicious treats. It was the best!
Another incredibly fun part of my month thus far was a little brunch event that I put together for my different creative lovelies here in Sacramento. A dozen of us fashion bloggers/photographers/videographers, ect. met up at one of my favorite spots here in Midtown, Sacramento, Cafeteria 15L, for a little Saturday morning deliciousness. This city is full of beautiful, creative people and I feel blessed to know so many of them. I felt like it was definitely time for everyone to get together to meet! I’ve never been the person to have one set group of friends, I’m more of a friends in all kinds of circles type gal, so I often find myself introducing and connecting people. I secretly love it! Then I can take credit for new friendships forming! Everyone had a blast and wants to do it again– success!!
On to the outfit…
As you probably know, I’m totally outerwear obsessed! I have been waiting for what feels like ages for the weather to cool off enough for me to live in my layers. I’m ALL ABOUT bomber jackets this autumn! It’s the perfect way to add a bit of edge to an outfit if you want to take a break from that closet staple, the leather jacket. It’s such a great option for mixing things up, but still achieving a similar cool girl vibe.
This high waisted skirt from Coco and Main is the perfect transitional piece for the autumn season. It’s incredibly soft and comfy and can be styled so many different ways! The stripes make it really fun too. It comes in five different colors, I went with the olive because it totally fits the season. I feel like high waisted skirts can be a bit intimidating because there’s no hiding in that thing when you put it on. If you’re someone who’s not comfortable showing the world what you got, then adding a layer, like a bomber, is the perfect addition. My brunch from earlier is definitely showing : ) It hits at the hips, so it’s flattering, but you also get a bit of coverage as well because it’s not fitted. Throw on a nice heeled boot to give your legs some added length (God knows I need the help!) and you’re ready take on the town! I will definitely be styling it with some oversized sweaters as it gets colder.
