I hope that everyone’s December is off to a great start! Christmas spirit is in full swing around here. I’ve decorated my little tree, started my shopping, and am making my way through all my favorite Christmas movies. I’m excited to go look at some beautiful Christmas lights and make a trip up to the snow! For those of you who don’t know, Sacramento is just a short drive from a winter wonderland up at Lake Tahoe.

With the holidays in full swing, there’s no end to the fun parties and events to attend! While all of this is incredibly exciting for your social life, shopping for multiple Christmas party outfits may not be so fun for your wallet. Most of the time when we purchase holiday outfits, we choose a dress that can’t really be worn for much else in life and ends up sitting in our closet ‘till the following years holiday parties. Where’s the fun in that? This is why I love investing in separates! I chose to go with this cold shoulder top and pleated skirt because not only are these pieces very on trend for this winter season, but they can be styled for several other looks and occasions. The unique combination of red and grey really catches your eye, making it an outfit that will stand out among all the black you’ll be seeing at your holiday parties. I accessorized with a cute long necklace for a bit of sparkle and sweater coat for a statement making layer. If you’re looking to go a bit more glam for your Christmas party outfit, I think this would be dreamy with with a fur coat and sparkly earrings for an elegant evening out. The thing I love most about this skirt and top is that they can have a life after the party and that’s something I’m all about!
